Professional Experience

Mert is an accounting professional with more than nine years of progressive experience across the public and private sectors. He has served as a Revenue Agent at the Internal Revenue Service, where he specialized in audit, compliance, and financial reporting reviews. Throughout his career, he has held diverse accounting and audit roles in the SaaS, mortgage, financial services, and hospitality industries, where he gained extensive experience in full-cycle accounting, financial reporting, intercompany reconciliations, and audit preparation. Mert also worked as a tax advisor during tax seasons before joining the IRS, assisting individuals and businesses with federal and state filings, addressing tax inquiries, and ensuring compliance with U.S. tax regulations.

Mert holds an MBA from the University of Central Arkansas, and a Graduate Certificate in Management from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. He also earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Management from Dokuz Eylül University in Turkey. He is also an Enrolled Agent (EA), authorized to represent taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service.
