Accounting Specialist

Full-time Accounting Specialist needed for the tax, accounting, and bookkeeping services for a small CPA firm.

Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Customer acquisition and retention
  • Organize and update financial records as needed (digital and physical)
  • Analyze transactions and prepare reports
  • Perform regular, detailed audits to ensure accuracy in financial documents, expenditures, and investments
  • Forecast revenue and analyze profit margins
  • Oversee ledger reconciliation and manage accounts payable/receivable
  • Participate in budgeting processes
  • Brief client senior executives regularly on the company’s financial status
  • Monitor bookkeeping activities regularly
  • Keep company financial information confidential
  • Establish accounting policies and procedures
  • Ensure projects stay on budget
  • Publish audited financial statements
  • Work with executives and CEOs to establish budgets
  • Reconcile all balance sheet accounts; reviewing for input accuracy and prepare monthly reports and journal entries, as needed
  • General ledger maintenance
  • Maintain required business documents
  • Oversee/Prepare annual 1099’s, annual corporate and individual tax returns
  • Assistance with the annual budget and audit process
  • Maintain financial document retention files
  • Deposit and cash reports
  • Perform other related duties as may be requested by Manay CPA’s President and Managing Partner

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proficient in accounting software (3 years minimum experience)
  • Extensive knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • 3-5 years Full Charge Bookkeeping experience
  • International tax experience is a plus
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced work environment
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Stay informed on industry developments and changes in regulations
  • Active CPA license required
  • Management skills or willingness to train to be a manager
  • Experience in individual and business taxes is a must
  • Not for profit experience is a plus, including not for profit and employee benefit audit work
  • Able to manage financial accounting and reporting projects for-profit and not for profit companies
  • Able to complete tasks accurately and timely with minimal supervision
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Thrives in a collaborative, team player office environment
  • Ability to interface well with staff and external contacts of the Authority
  • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Strong organizational skills
